В поле зрения автора статьи именное словообразование, представляющее собой отдельную словообразовательную подсистему, отличающуюся набором индивидуальных средств и моделей производства новых лексических единиц в современном амхарском языке. В свете актуализации проблемы продуктивности в словообразовании рассматриваются наиболее активно используемые на сегодняшний день способы и модели словообразования как новые, так и существующие в языке на протяжении длительного времени. Автор анализирует интралингвистические и экстралингвистические факторы, оказывающие влияние на активизацию процесса создания новых слов в современном амхарском языке. Рассматривается также проблема правильного использования новых лексических единиц, в том числе с учётом их стилистической принадлежности, своевременное решение которой позволяет избежать недопонимания или искажения смысла языковых новообразований в процессе коммуникации. В связи с этим делается вывод о необходимости систематизации и унификации новых слов, в особенности относящихся к терминологической лексике.

Данная работа ограничивается рассмотрением отдельных аспектов именного словообразования в современном амхарском языке, выделяя наиболее продуктивные с точки зрения автора словообразовательные модели имён.

The article analyzes nominal word formation in modern Amharic as a subsystem with special word formation mechanisms. We examine productive word formation models and patterns both new and existing in the language for a long time. The intralinguistic and extralinguistic causes that influence the process of creating new words are also observed in the article.

Particular attention is paid to the problem of the correct use of newly coined lexical units so as to avoid the distortion of their meaning as well as misunderstanding between the people who communicate with each other. In this connection, a conclusion is made about the need for the systematization and unification of new words, especially those related to terminological vocabulary.

The article is limited to the consideration of certain aspects of the nominal word formation highlighting those word-formation patterns in modern Amharic that from the author’s point of view are most productive.
