LEXICO-PHONETIC LOANWORDS AS NAMING UNITS IN MODERN LITERARY ARABIC
Abstract
The paper is dedicated to the study of lexico-phonetic loanwords from exterior languages into Literary Arabic. The article analyzes linguistic and extralinguistic causes of lexical borrowing as well as phonetic and morphological features of the borrowed words. The author also proposes a classification of loanwords in an attempt to fill the gap in the existing research on the subject.
