ОСНОВНЫЕ ФУНКЦИИ ЭВФЕМИСТИЧЕСКИХ ЕДИНИЦ В РУССКОМ И ПЕРСИДСКОМ ЯЗЫКАХ

Аннотация

This article studies the euphemism in Russian and Persian languages. To retain social situation, people avoid using ungracious and offensive words. The words, substitutes for a harsh or offensive one, are called euphemisms. As a lingual phenomenon, it needs more studies to be applied, as scholars have not yet come to an agreement in describing it. Some linguists describe euphemism from the Taboo point of view while others study its stylistic or pragmatic aspects. To avoid conflicts in communication, to reserve and improve social status and concealment are the main goal and functions of euphemism both in Russian and Persian. The two roles are often combined. It is difficult to differentiate between them, although in some cases one has a more prominent role than the other. The novelty of the research is in the use of lexicographic and contrastive methods of euphemism studies in Russian and Persian languages. The results achieved can be used in Russian and Persian theoretical courses in lexicology.
