THE CONTEXT FEATURES OF THE CHINESE PRESIDENT’S NEW YEAR MESSAGES
Abstract
The article deals with The Chinese President’s New Year messages in the view of the theory of communication. The emphasis is made on the non-verbal side of communication - the context of New Year addresses. The external and internal contexts of New Year’s messages are analyzed. Context is examined in the synchronous and diachronic aspects. An attempt has been made to identify the specific features of the context and to show its role in ensuring the coherence and integrity of the communicative event - the New Year’s messages of the PRC President.
